In consideration of last week’s critique from corn lobbyist group The National Corn Grower’s Association, King Corn must confess it agrees with the NCGA on one point at least: we do want to shake up debate about this year’s new farm bill.
In a release last week, the NCGA disapprovingly noted that the film was “an attempt to influence” the legislation.
King Corn says amen!

With the 2007 Farm Bill looming on the Senate Agriculture Committee’s agenda this month, and feisty debate like this ramping up about the legislation this week, King Corn heads to Washington D.C. to join the fray.
Tonight, King Corn screens for congressional staff at The United States Capitol Building, and the film opens at D.C.’s E Street Cinema this weekend.
